Too much to catch up on

As you can see I am way too far behind. With Facebook, it seems that I forget to get on here anymore. I post things there and not here. I will try and catch up soon. But our latest and greatest, or not so greatest news is that we found out we will be going to Fort Polk, Louisiana. Initial reaction...not so good. But we have known for 6 days, and for the past 5, I have been searching the internet about this place. I am definitely warming up to the idea. Small towns are nothing new to me. Been there done that a few times. Humidity, tornados, & bugs, done that too. BEACH near by haven't done and really looking forward to it. Mardi Gras is one thing I haven't done nor do I care to either. Exploring a new part of the country will be fun.
I have been in touch with a few people who are stationed there and seem to be mixed feelings. But I realize that I have never went off what other people tell me, so why start now. I need to go down there and see for myself. It will be fine and we will be happy wherever we go. We know that the Lord has a purpose for us...might be to drastically reduce the mosquito population or some other grand purpose, but we will go find out. We will definitely miss OH and all of the wonderful people we have became friends with. It will be a hard move. I am counting on lots of visitors...even if they want to meet us at the beach :)

You're going to love Fort Polk. My husband and I were stationed here 25 years ago and we never left. For information on housing and all sorts of things, check the Internet at www.jrtc-polk.army.mil. Keep up with installation news (I work with the Fort Polk paper) at www.fortpolkguardian.com

Yeah, you finally know where you're going! Glad you have such a positive outlook right now b/c I'm not sure I will have the same in a couple years when we move. Fort Polk is lucky to get you guys!
